The Ottawa Senators face the New York Islanders in the second half of a back to back. They’re coming off a 5-2 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Coming off a defeat at the hands of the Columbus Blue Jackets last night, the Ottawa Senators have now lost five straight. They will look to right the ship against the New York Islanders.
Forward
The Sens will once again use 12 forwards in today’s game. They will be: Tom Pyatt, Matt Duchene, Bobby Ryan, Ryan Dzingel, Derick Brassard, Mark Stone, Mike Hoffman, Jean-Gabriel Pageau, Alex Burrows, Nick Paul, Nate Thompson, and Gabriel Dumont. This is the same lineup as yesterday.
Defence
On defence the Sens will stick with the same group as yesterday. The six players are: Dion Phaneuf, Erik Karlsson, Ben Harpur, Cody Ceci, Johnny Oduya, and Thomas Chabot. Once again Fredrik Claesson will be a healthy scratch.
Goal
In goal it seems likely that Mike Condon will get the start as Anderson played yesterday.

The Way To Win
The story once again will be that the Ottawa Senators need their best players to step up. Karlsson has been held pointless in five straight games. Duchene has yet to get a point with the Ottawa Senators, and the goaltending has been atrocious. When teams come out of losing skids it’s rarely pretty. It takes a bit of luck and it takes dirty plays to win. The Ottawa Senators need to play gritty and get goals the hard way to break out of this skid, or it will continue.
