Ottawa Senators Look To Return To Form Against Detroit
Coming off their worst game of the season, the Ottawa Senators will look to avoid a third straight loss. They will take on the Detroit Red Wings in the second matchup between the two teams this season.
The Ottawa Senators are coming off a crushing 8-3 loss to the Montreal Canadiens. Going into another divisional matchup the Sens will be looking to pick up two points in regulation.
Forward
At forward the Sens will go back to 12 players. Kyle Turris will make his return after being out with an illness. The remaining 11 players will be: Zack Smith, Ryan Dzingel, Tom Pyatt, Derick Brassard, Mark Stone, Mike Hoffman, Jean-Gabriel Pageau, Chris DiDomenico, Alex Burrows, Nate Thompson, and Jack Rodewald.
Defence
On defence the Sens will go back to dressing just six players. They will be: Johnny Oduya, Erik Karlsson, Dion Phaneuf, Cody Ceci, Fredrik Claesson, and Chris Wideman.
Goal
In goal it looks like the Sens will go back to Craig Anderson tonight. Despite a terrible showing against Montreal the Sens feel confident that their starter can bounce back.
Illness
The biggest story around the team is around it’s health. However, it doesn’t have to do with injuries, but instead illness. Turris missed the past few games with an illness and now Borowiecki is out with an illness. There is a rumour that Karlsson is sick as well which contributed to his poor performance against Montreal. The hope for the Ottawa Senators tonight will be that the players in the game are at one hundred percent.
With Kyle Turris returning the Sens have a much more formidable offence. While he was out they were struggling at centre. However, with his return the Sens no longer have to put so much of the load on Brassard and Pageau.
