After following to the L.A. Kings the other night, the Ottawa Senators will look to bounce back against the Philadelphia Flyers. In order to do so they’ll have to overcome a weakened forward group.
The Ottawa Senators blew a late lead to the L.A. Kings and gave up a crucial point the other night. Struggling to finish out games this season they’ll look to get their fifth win of the season against the Flyers.
Forward
With an abundance of injuries at forward the Ottawa Senators will only be icing 11 forwards tonight. They will be: Ryan Dzingel, Derick brassard, Mark Stone, Mike Hoffman, Jean-Gabriel Pageau, Tom Pyatt, Alex Burrows, Nate Thompson, Christopher DiDomenico, Max McCormick, and Filip Chlapik. Jack Rodewald who was recalled earlier today will be a healthy scratch.
Defence
On defence since the Sens are only icing eleven forwards they will use seven defencemen. They will be: Johnny Oduya, Erik Karlsson, Dion Phaneuf, Cody Ceci, Fredrik Claesson, Chris Wideman, and Mark Borowiecki.
Goal
In goal the Sens will go back to Craig Anderson. Despite playing well overall against the Kings, it was a misplay by Condon that cost the Sens the game.
Chlapik
With Chlapik in the lineup he is set to make his NHL debut. This will be the third player to make their NHL debut with the Sens this season.

Holding The Lead
So far, this season the Sens have got a large number of their points from overtime losses. There are two ways to look at it, either the Sens are good at keeping the game close, or are failing to close out games. This season it seems like the Ottawa Senators have struggled with maintaining a lead late in the game. They have blown late leads on numerous occasions this season. In order to continue to put up points the Sens will have to learn to hold their leads.
