Silver Seven “Prospect Update: OHL Playoffs” – Ian Alex

Submission: Zachary Prenner

Theianalex over at S7S has a quick prospect update on Ottawa’s junior prospects still in the playoffs. It’s heartening to see how well Nick Paul has been doing, as the other two parts of the Spezza deal have been underwhelming thus far. Same goes for Tobias Lindberg, who just might end up making the Bishop trade look bad instead of downright awful.

The Take: Nice to see some of the prospects doing well. Since Nick Paul was chosen for Team Canada at the world junior’s, he’s been an intriguing prospect. Tobias Lindberg as well, who could end up in Binghamton next season. Each are especially intriguing as they came back in returns for the Jason Spezza and Ben Bishop trades, two trades in which the Senators have come out on the bottom, even if the Spezza trade was bound to happen.I wrote a while back about Linberg, Paul, and Harpur, all 2013 4th round picks where that selection group could end up surprising the Senators as they have 4 legitimate 4th round prospects.

Capital Gains “Ottawa Senators Playoffs 2015” – Youtube

Submission: Trevor Shackles

Capital Gains from Twitter posted this amazing Senators video in preparation for game 4. It’s better than any official Senators website video I’ve ever seen, and it can make you quite emotional. Basically all I can say is, it’s been done before, and it can happen again.

The Take: Wow. Amazing video. Inspiring, outstanding, everything. The idea of the Penguins game back late in the season is a microcosm of the Senators’ playoff series gives myself and other Senators fans hope. If you haven’t watched this guy yet, you owe it to yourself to do so.

6th Sens “Chris Wideman Set To Become A Group VI UFA On July 1″ – Nichols

Submission: Jay Nowak

Nichols over at 6thSens looks at how Binghamtom Senators defenseman Chris Wideman will be become a Group VI unrestricted free agent on July 1st and how that might effect Dave Cameron’s decisions regarding his defensive parings going into the 2015-16 season.

The Take: Chris Wideman has been an intriguing prospect for a few years now. He was the AHL’s top defender this season and could garner some interest on a 1-way deal as a UFA. Lock him up, Sens. Give him a similar deal to Borowiecki’s last contract. 2-way the first year, 1-way the second year. Then again, would he ever clear waivers? Maybe not.
