Craig Anderson Named NHL’s 1st Star For January

The NHL named its stars for the month of January, and Ottawa Senators goalie Craig Anderson was named the first star.

Snubbed on Monday when the season’s first players of the week were announced, Anderson’s wins over Washington and Montreal capped off a stellar month that saw him finish with a 5-0-1 record with a 0.99 GAA and .967 SP.

Patrick Marleau was the second star on the strength of four straight 2 goal games, while Thomas Vanek and his two 5 point games was the third star.
