SenShot Goalie Week – Final Rankings

facebooktwitterreddit

Over the course of the last week, I have been looking at the state of goaltending in the league and ranked each team on a divisional basis.   In case you missed them, you can click on the following links to review them: Pacific, Northwest,  Central, Southeast,  Atlantic and Northeast.

Today I will amass those rankings and come up with a league-wide ranking from 1-30.  This ranking is based on a number of factors, not the least of which is my feeling and perception.  I don’t expect you to agree, because you could have a vastly different ranking.  I gave my explanations during the week, as well as my feelings on each club’s tandem, so I will simply make my list below without further explanation.

30. Columbus Blue Jackets

29. Edmonton Oilers

28. Toronto Maple Leafs

27. Winnipeg Jets

26. New York Islanders

25. Colorado Avalanche

24. Tampa Bay Lightning

23. Florida Panthers

22. Chicago Blackhawks

21. Boston Bruins

20. Anaheim Ducks

19. Dallas Stars

18. Washington Capitals

17. Carolina Hurricanes

16. Ottawa Senators

15. New Jersey Devils

14. San Jose Sharks

13. Philadelphia Flyers

12. Calgary Flames

11. Montreal Canadiens

10. Pittsburgh Penguins

9. Minnesota Wild

8. Phoenix Coyotes

7. Buffalo Sabres

6. Nashville Predators

5. Detroit Red Wings

4. New York Rangers

3. St. Louis Blues

2. Los Angeles Kings

1. Vancouver Canucks

Knowing this list is purely subjective, I expect that not many people will agree with each ranking.  Vancouver has two legitimate #1 talents, and as long as they have both Luongo and Schneider, they will be in great hands.  In many cases, teams are interchangeable depending on personal opinion, and in many cases the backup was considered.  Sometime when I was chossing between two teams, the deciding factor for me was the answer to the question – If both of the teams’ starters went down long term, which team would be in better shape?

So this is my ranking, comment below!
