I know, I know. All of you are probably sick of talking about #15. However, there’s really nothing else to talk and every Sens fan knows their stomach is craving for more Heatley news. For those of you that don’t know, this is merely becoming a game of cat-and-mouse between Bryan Murray and Steve Tambellini, Doug Wilson, and Chuck Fletcher. Unfortunately, it’s a very interesting game of mouse-and-cat which can’t let go of the media spotlight.
The Oilers have been interested since Day One. They were eventually the team that almost acquired Dany Boy, until he nixed the trade with his [...]

More Heatley Madness
…And Bingo Was His Name-O
The Ottawa Senators’ affliate, the Binghamton Senators, lost out on a playoff spot on the final night of the AHL season. They had been in that spot for quite some time. Many people were expecting more from Bingo, however, it’s big brother club called up Cory Clouston, Brendan Bell, Brian Lee, and Brian Elliott for the remainder of the season. The team went down the toilet from there and Bryan Murray has spent his off-season trying to rebuild Binghamton. He has signed players on two-way contracts which for the msot part means “We like you, but Binghamton likes you better”. [...]
Brandon Felder, the Predatros beat blogger over at HockeyBuzz, posted an interesting article a few days ago. He says that Alex Kovalev, now an Ottawa Senator, had an agreement with the Predators on a 1 year, $4.5 million contract. He goes to as saying that GM David Poile had the press release ready and all Kovy needed to do was sign on the bottom line.
Here, with Bryan Murray’s super hero powers come the Ottawa Senators. Can they do it? YES THEY CAN! The Sens instead offered Kovalev a 2 year, $10 million contract which Kovalev later accepted. By these actions, [...]
Don’t Cry For Me, San Jos-Ina
Martin Havlat and Wade Redden will continue to haunt my soul forever. Whether it’s from a distant land, I will never forget ther injustice they did to us. Havlat was a premier scoring threat, but he was freaking injured every 5 games. Wade Redden, a Senator killer for all of his life, never had very good seasons in Ottawa, even though his smooth puck handling skills are missed in the Sens lineup. However, what he did in the winter of 2006 has to be considered vile, cruel, and grievance towards the city of Ottawa and it’s fans.
Many fans will remember [...]
Sens Chirp, a pretty reliable source, is stirring up a three-way deal between the Sens, the Montreal Canadiens, and the San Jose Sharks. Here’s what Dave, the author of SC, had to say:
“All kinds of whacky rumours when it comes to possible Heatley outcomes so its pretty tricky to tell which are legit. I had a rumour sent in to me last night that says a three team deal could be nearing completion and it involves the Ottawa Senators, the San Jose Sharks and the Montreal Canadiens. The deal would apparently see Patrick Marleau end up in Montreal, Dany Heatley get [...]
Should the Sens go after Kessel?
After toying with Dany Heatley, it’s still unclear if Dany Boy will stay in the Nation’s Capital. If he is traded, the return would include a second-line centre. In the proposed Edmonton deal, Andrew Cogliano was that fixture. Now that it seems like it will take some salary cap budging to trade Heatley out of Ottawa, Bryan Murray may want to go another route to get that SLC that his team dearly needs.
In one of the previous posts on my previous blog, Sens Buzz, we found out Mike Fisher had the worst production for a SLC last season. Last was [...]
Pukin’ on a Monday Evening
The rumor that is making the rounds around the Sens Blogosphere is that General Manager Dictator Bryan Murray is possibly interested in Maxim Afinogenov, the former Buffalo Sabre. That’s right, after every Sens fan had a heart attack after the signing of Alexei Kovalev, Melnyk and the Murrays have the sheer audacity to bring in yet another Russian. At least Kovy can play defense, this guy wouldn’t play defense for his boner. Excuse me, I need to go puke.
Checking out Maxim’s stats, the only injury-free year he has had in his entire career as a hockey player was the 2001-2002 season. So 8 [...]
On June 8th, 2004, Bryan Murray was named head coach of the Ottawa Senators and resigned from his post in Anaheim. After two very successful years at the bench, Eugene Melnyk decided to shake up things a bit by removing John Muckler as GM and hiring Bryan Murray. Murray, who had spent 26 season before being named GM, had previously been at the helm of the Florida Panthers, Detroit Red Wings, and most recently Anaheim Ducks. Known as an excellent drafter, Bryan saw room for change in Ottawa and saw he needed to do some tooling in order to re-create [...]
