The Ottawa Senators should be looking to boost their roster during this offseason. After being swept in the first round by the Carolina Hurricanes, it is clear that the Senators need to add more talent if they hope to take that next step and be legitimate contenders.
One area that the Senators should be looking to strengthen is their forward group. They could use another skilled forward who can put the puck in the net. Due to this, one player who the Senators should strongly consider targeting if he hits the free agent market this summer is Bobby McMann.
McMann is the kind of power forward that a team like the Senators should have on their radar. This is because he not only makes an impact with his scoring but also with his physicality. With this, he would be a strong pickup for a Senators club that is looking to be better next season.
If the Senators sign McMann, he would provide them with another option for their top line with Tim Stutzle and Drake Batherson. However, he could also slot on the Senators' second line with Brady Tkachuk and Dylan Cozens if signed. In either scenario, the Senators' forward group would get a nice boost if they brought in a forward like McMann.
McMann's stats from the 2025-26 season show just how impactful he is capable of being when playing at his best. In 78 games this campaign split between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Seattle Kraken, he had 29 goals, 46 points, and 165 hits. This is after he had 20 goals, 34 points, and 136 hits in 74 games with the Maple Leafs during the 2024-25 season.
With numbers like these, McMann would have the potential to be a strong pickup for the Senators if signed. It will be interesting to see if Ottawa makes a push for him this offseason from here.
