In their last game of the season, the Ottawa Senators made their way to Buffalo to face off against Craig Anderson and the Buffalo Sabres. The Senators would lose 4-3 in Overtime.
First Period
Considering there was no scoring, I will show a couple highlights.
Alex Tuch would be robbed by Mads Sogaard early in the game
As Kyle Okposo would hit Tim Stutzle without him having the puck, Brady Tkachuk would immediately come to his defense. It was a suspect hit in my opinion.
Mads Sogaard would make a crucial save on Tage Thompson to keep the game scoreless.
There would be no scoring for either team in the first period. The shots are also even at 11.
Each team would kill one penalty and would each have a good ammount of chances.
Second Period
The Buffalo Sabres open the scoring at 19:17 as Henri Jokiharju scores his 3rd goal of the season. The Sabres lead 1-0.
The Sabres would score again with 17:14 left in the period as Victor Olofsson scores his 27th goal of the season. 2-0.
Tim Stutzle scores his 39th goal of the year with 15:33 left to play in the period on the powerplay from a filthy feed from Jake Sanderson. 2-1
Dylan Gambrell scores with 13:49 left to play in the period to tie things up at 2. It is his fourth goal of the season.
Claude Giroux scores his 35th goal of the season with 7:24 to play in the second. The play is reviewed for a kicking motion as the puck bounced off of Giroux’s foot. The call on the ice stands, good goal. 3-2. With Stutzle earning an assist on that, he has reached 90 points this season.
After 40, the game is 3-2 in favour of the Senators. The Sabres lead in shots 26-22.
Third Period
Tage Thompson scores to things things on the poweerplay with his 47th goal of the season with 16:54 left to play in the game.
The Third Period would end tied at 3, we are going to overtime.

Overtime
Casey Mittelstadt scores to end the game.
Overtime would end with the Buffalo Sabres winning 4-3. Your Three Stars are Casey Mittelstadt, Tim Stutzle, and Craig Anderson
Casey Mitteldstadt scored the game winner and got an assist
Tim Stutzle scored a goal and an assist
Craig Anderson won the game having saved 30 shots, in what is most likely his last ever NHL start.
