As the Ottawa Senators’ Playoff Hopes come to a near halt, they continue their road trip against the Caroline Hurricanes.

After Sunday’s loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets, the Ottawa Senators are extremely unlikely to make the playoffs, but it is still mathematically possible, yet EXTREMELY unlikely. The Ottawa Senators lost against the Columbus Blue Jackets in Overtime on Sunday. Tonight is an absolute Must-Win if they want to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Egor Sokolov was called up ahead of today’s game and it was announced he will play.

Mathieu Joseph could miss tonight’s game to an ankle injury as he got hurt in practice today.

Brady Tkachuk could also miss tonight’s game as he left the morning skate early. Head Coach DJ Smith that there will be 2-3 game-time decisions, so Tkachuk could still play.

Leevi Merilainen will get the nod in net tonight in his NHL Debut. He will be the seventh goalie to play in a game for the Ottawa Senators this season

Carolina Hurricanes Notes

The Carolina Hurricanes are coming off a win against the New York Islanders on Monday.

The Hurricanes have won back-to-back games and have gone 5-4-1 in their last 10 games.

Martin Necas leads the team in points with 68 points (27 goals and 41 assists) in 76 games.

Antti Raanta is expected to start in net tonight.
