Ottawa Senators Notes

The Ottawa Senators are coming off of a 3-0 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs last night in what was a must-win. The Sens are now much less likely to make the playoffs, but it is still mathematically possible.

Season Series: The Ottawa Senators have won both previous matchups against the Blue Jackets and tonight marks the final of their season series.

Scoreboard Watching: For the Sens, their best solution would be if the New York Rangers beat the Washington Capitals, the Carolina Hurricanes beat the New York Islanders, the Philadelphia Flyers beat the Pittsburgh Penguins and for the Toronto Maple Leafs to beat the Detroit Red Wings.

Mads Sogaard is currently feeling under the weather, so the Ottawa Senators have called up Leevi Merilainen from the AHL. He recently played in his AHL debut and had a 41-save shutout.

Cam Talbot is expected to start tonight.
