Ottawa Senators Notes

After Friday’s loss, the Sens hope to finish off the back-to-back on the right step.

20-year-old Ridly Greig was sent down to the Belleville Senators this morning while Mark Kastelic was called up. Bruce Garrioch reports.

Considering Cam Talbot played last night, it can be expected that Mads Sogaard gets the nod in net tonight. He currently has a record of  2-0-1 with a save percentage of .913 and a goals-against average of 2.85.

This game can be considered a “Must Win” if Ottawa hopes to gain ground in the wild-card race.

This is the second game of a 4 game stretch in 5 days. Ottawa must win tonight, and then again against the Detroit Red Wings in order to gain ground on the second wild-card spot, currently occupied by the Red Wings.

Derick Brassard is closing in on 1000 games played in the NHL. After last night’s game, he sits at 996. He has played for 10 NHL teams.

Chris Tierney scored last night, scoring his first as a Canadien, scoring in his Habs debut. This is his first goal since December 11, when he played for the Florida Panthers.
