Senators lock up integral part of d-core, extend Zub 4-years

The Ottawa Senators have locked up yet another core member of their lineup, to a multi-year deal. Russian defenseman Artem Zub has agreed to a four-year contract renewal. This article will break down Zub and his importance to the Sens’ future.

Chris Johnston, most notably of TSN reports that Zub has signed a four-year extension carrying an average annual average value of 4.6 million. The exact monetary breakdown of his new contract has not been announced yet, but the deal includes a ten-team no-trade clause.

Zub’s steady two-way play has proven extremely valuable to the Sens’ lineup. He has mostly been paired with star defenseman Thomas Chabot, but has been moved up and down the lineup to provide depth throughout the d-core.
