Ahead of their season finale on Wednesday, the Senators made some last-minute roster changes

Thought to be a far cry at one point, Logan Brown will finally make his season debut in the Senators’ 56th and final game, while Parker Kelly will make his NHL debut after a successful sophomore campaign with Belleville.

This gives the team and fans an even greater glimpse into the future by inserting even more youth into the lineup for the season finale.

Brown’s season was tainted by injury as he was only able to suit up in 12 games for Belleville, registering 7 points in 12 games. Obviously, the production this season from the 23-year-old is a little disappointing, but he has started to look his usual dominant self with 5 points in his final 4 games with the Baby Sens.

Parker Kelly is set to make his well-deserved NHL debut on Wednesday and this seems like a reward for his relentless play-style that has earned the respect of the Senators staff. Signed as an undrafted free agent in 2017, Kelly has been able to carve out a significant role in the organization. D.J. Smith all but confirmed that motion when he told the media that Kelly got the call-up because of “merit”, and with the culture he and his staff has instilled in Ottawa, this shouldn’t come as a surprise. The 21-year-old Canmore, Alberta native has 7 goals and 12 points in 28 games this season with Belleville while playing featured roles on both the power-play and penalty-kill.

Colin White is expected to miss the final game with injury, while the Senators will healthy scratch veterans Ryan Dzingel and Chris Tierney in favor of Logan Brown, Parker Kelly, and Artem Anisimov. The Senators lines from Tuesday’s practice were:

Expect Gustavsson to get the start in game 56 behind what is likely the youngest lineup the Senators have iced this season, all Senators fans should tune in.
