Will the Sens trade Pageau?

The Senators have been in a full out rebuild for a few years now, and its almost becoming a tradition to sell off high profile players at the deadline for picks and prospects. So is Pageau going to be the next domino to fall?

He’s been an Ottawa Senator for a while now, and is only one of four remaining Senators from the historic 2017 run to the conference final.

He started the season with a bang and hasn’t looked back. He has 18 goals to go with ten assists for 28 points in 38 games played.

Although he is a fan favourite and loved by the Ottawa community, he is probably going to be traded at the deadline for multiple pieces.

There’s a high chance a team will offer GM Pierre Dorion a good prospect and a first round pick. Dorion wouldn’t be able to refuse that, and he’s gone to a contender.

Somehow he is a +21 on one of the worst teams in the NHL. He is tied for third in the NHL in that category with Hurricanes defenceman, Jaccob Slavin.

Pageau has been a favourite Sens player for fans ever since he was a rookie back in 2013-14. But what really cemented his legacy among Sens fans was when he scored four goals in one game, in the 2016-17 playoffs against the New York Rangers.

His career year was the 2015-16 season, where he posted 19 goals and 43 points, as the Senators failed to make the playoffs that year.

I personally want him to re-sign with the club, but from a managers perspective if a team comes in with the right offer, he should take it without delay.

So it seems Pageau will be the next big Senators player to be traded at the deadline.
