The Senators beat the Buffalo Sabres by a score of 3-1 Monday night, thanks to a stellar performance in net by Anderson, and offence supplied by Pageau and Tkachuk.

Third Star: Brady Tkachuk

Tkachuk had a great game and played like a real Tkachuk would. He scored a goal and notched two assists, for a nice three point performance.

He was all over the game with his physicality and skill, setting up Pageau twice with nice passes for two goals.

Tkachuk did a great job getting into the heads of the Sabres, and was fantastic in his coverage of Sabres phenom Jack Eichel, who’s point streak ended tonight.

Second Star: Jean-Gabriel Pageau

Pageau is showing that he still has the goal scoring flash that he showed us all in November. In which he tallied eleven goals in that month.

He scored two goals tonight and was a force to be reckoned with all over the ice, as he usually is.

Great defensive zone coverage, and face offs, was a big part of the Senators victory and Pageau had a big share of that.

First Star: Craig Anderson

No words can adequately describe the absolutely dominating performance by the long-time Senator goaltender.

He saved 43 of 44 shots, and made many huge saves that made momentum swing in Ottawa’s direction time and time again.

This was the best game by the Park Ridge, IL native since the 2016-17 playoffs, in that magical run to the conference finals.
