Ottawa Senators: Positives From Recent Games And Going Forward
The Ottawa Senators find themselves stuck in a six game losing streak. In order to get out of it they will have to take what positives they can out of the recent games. As fans we must do the same thing, so let’s take a look at the positives from recent games.
The positives may be few and far between, but this hasn’t been a team without anything going for them. Their luck is bound to change soon. Here are three things that the Ottawa Senators can look at in a positive light.
Duchene Finally Scored
Firstly, Matt Duchene finally scored. It may have taken him eight games, but he’s finally on the board. Anyone who watched the games would tell you that Duchene as actually been one of the Sens best forwards of late. He has been generating chances and shooting a lot. However, he’s been a bit snake bitten and just hasn’t had the puck go in. Now that Duchene has the monkey off his back he can break out. He’s always been a streaky scorer, so now is the time for him to start putting up points.
Anderson Shows Signs Of Life
As much as no one wants to blame the goalie, Anderson hasn’t been himself this season. Now that isn’t to say he’s the sole reason the team is losing, because he isn’t. The entire team top to bottom has been bad, but there’s no denying that Anderson has been bad to start the season. However, he put up a quietly solid performance against the Islanders, stopping 22 of 24 shots. That’s good for a 0.917 save percentage. Hopefully that’s a sign of good things to come from Anderson going forward.

Hoffman And Stone
Lastly, Hoffman and Stone are still putting up points. Both players are looked at to be the biggest offensive weapons on the team along with Duchene and Karlsson. If Hoffman and Stone continue to play the way they are, the Ottawa Senators will start to generate more offence in future games.
