Coming off a loss to the Vancouver Canucks, the Ottawa Senators host the New Jersey Devils. They’ll look to bounce back and get their first win with Erik Karlsson in the lineup.

After sweeping their Western Canada road trip the Ottawa Senators were defeated by the Vancouver Canucks. Despite controlling the play throughout the game they failed to score a single goal. The Sens will now look to return to their winning ways when they host the New Jersey Devils.

Forward

The forwards tonight will be similar to previous games. It’s projected that the Sens will use: Zack Smith, Kyle Turris, Ryan Dzingel, Bobby Ryan, Derick Brassard, Mark Stone, Mike Hoffman, Jean-Gabriel Pageau, Tom Pyatt, Nate Thompson, Alex Burrows, and Logan Brown.

Defence

On defence it has been reported that Mark Borowiecki has suffered an upper body injury and as a result will not be available to play tonight. The Sens will now play with just six defencemen: Johnny Oduya, Erik Karlsson, Dion Phaneuf, Cody Ceci, Fredrik Claesson, and Chris Wideman.

Goal

In goal it’s been projected that Craig Anderson gets the start. Early in the season it seems like Condon will only get starts when the Sens have back to back games.

Logan Brown

The big story tonight will be the return of Logan Brown. Brown performed very well in pre-season and in training camp but since then has played just one game, the season opener. In that game his ice time was limited and he barely saw any action. Since then the Sens chose to bench both rookie forwards Brown and Formenton in favour of seven defencemen. Formenton was sent back to junior, but Brown stayed with the team.

Now with Borowiecki injured, Brown will get another chance to prove he can stay with the team. He will have to perform in the next few games or risk being sent back to junior. If he wants to stay with the Ottawa Senators he needs to do well tonight.
