Tonight the Ottawa Senators look to keep an undefeated pre-season record when they take on the New Jersey Devils.

Previously the Ottawa Senators were victorious in three games thus far. They defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs both times in a back to back. The team then had a few days off before playing the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday. They won and brought their record to 3-0. Now they will look to make it 4-0 when they take on the New Jersey Devils.

Forward

At forward tonight the Sens will be playing: Alex Formenton, Kyle Turris, Zack Smith, Max McCormick, Logan Brown, Tom Pyatt, Alex Burrows, Jean-Gabriel Pageau, Filip Chlapik, Chris VandeVelde, Nate Thomson, and Tyler Randall,

Defence

On defence the Sens have, Dion Phaneuf, Thomas Chabot, Mark Borowiecki, Ben Harpur, Fredrik Claesson, and Chris Wideman.

Goal

In goal Mike Condon and Andrew Hammond will split time. Mike Condon is expected to be the Sens backup this season but Hammond was in the role just a year ago. If he has a good camp and Condon falters he could win it back.

Players To Watch

Tonight all the attention for the Sens will be on the young guns. Logan Brown, Filip Chlapik, and Alex Formenton have continued to impress throughout training camp. Unfortunately, there isn’t enough room on the roster for all of them. Even with all the injuries the Sens are facing there will need to be cuts. Brown is the favourite to make the team out of camp but Chlapik and Formenton have performed very well and could surpass him on the depth chart before pre-season is done.

Next: Ottawa Senators: Erik Karlsson Resumes Skating, Nears Return

On defence eyes will be planted on Thomas Chabot. With Karlsson returning earlier than expected it will be even harder for him to make the lineup. Although he’s looked fantastic so far, he needs to keep up his good form to ensure his spot in the Ottawa Senators lineup come opening night.
