The Ottawa Senators are currently on their Hometown Tour, and it has been a resounding success getting to visit the local communities in the Ottawa area.
Fan outreach is a crucial part of any thriving franchise, and the Senators have always been especially adept with being accessible to their loyal supporters.
All great things must come to an end, however, and the tour’s last stop is Wednesday, August 31 in Smith Falls and Kanata.
There’s still time to check it out if you’re in the area and haven’t already, because it looks like a lot of fun.
One of the sponsors of the tour is Canadian Tire Centre, so that’s the host site of any stop the tour makes around the Ottawa area.
Each stop offers the opportunity for fans to meet a couple players and get autographs. The autographs are somewhat restricted, though.

Fans have to get a wristband from the front desk of the Canadian Tire Centre hosting the event earlier in the day, and there’s a limited amount.
The Senators always do a great job of getting high profile players available to make appearances at the events.
Considering that there’s 12 events total, it also allows the opportunity to get a lot of diverse players throughout the roster to show up.
So far the players have included Chris Kelly, Matt Puempel, Derick Brassard, Logan Brown, Jean-Gabriel Pageau, Cody Ceci, and Mike Blunden.
Puempel has actually been kind enough to make appearances on multiple days, meeting fans on both August 22 as well as August 24.
Whether a fan is most intrigued by meeting a top 6 forward, young prospect, skilled defenseman, or grinder, there’s all types of players that the fans can come out to meet.
Mark Borowiecki and Nick Paul will be the players available on August 31. Paul is also doing the August 30 event with Mark Stone.
Along with autograph opportunities, these events also feature interactive games, the chance to meet local media personalities, and the opportunity to win Senators prizes.
It’s a lot of fun for all those involved. Here’s the link if anybody wants to check out more of the details.
