Unfortunately for a week now, our beloved Ottawa Senators season is finally over. A miracle run to the playoffs was enough for me to be satisfied but it wasn’t enough for the Senators team. Even though the team fell short of forcing a game 7 in Montreal, there’s tons to be proud. This will be one of the odd regular season endings that won’t end in complete dismay. There’s a bright future ahead with this core group of young players in Ottawa and everyone around the league knows this won’t be the last of them. Will be back next season bigger and better, and with more experience under our belt.
And with that we welcome you to Senshot.com’s Twitter Recap: Regular Season Finale
Giving Thanks
With the end of the season a reality now, our kind and awesome players wanted to say thanks to us. Senator fans have been nothing but spectacular this season and we should all be proud of each other for supporting our team the way we did this season.
Huge thank you to our fans! Unbelievable support during our playoff run. Tough to come up short - but we'll be back hungry! #sensarmy

Sens get a standing ovation off the ice from the fans as the players salute them. Good job Ottawa.

I would like to thank everyone for this year. It's been an amazing run and I'm sad to see it come to a end. But we'll be back. ;)

Backup Goalie
Stu Mills from the CBC reported a heart warming moment prior to game 6. Carter a young boy came dressed to the game in full goalie equipment, just in case one of the goalies got hurt. Carter was quoted saying “I’ll be ready.”
Money Facts
Jamie Long tweeted earlier this week some interesting salary information regarding the Senators next season.
Fun #Sens fact: Kyle Turris and David Legwand will earn the same salary next season.

Curtis Lazar will be paid $833,000 in 2016-17, which would be less than Mikael Wikstrand. Could be a real discount. #Sens

Patrick Wiercioch Named To Team Canada
Senator defencemen, Patrick Wiercioch was added to the Team Canada squad at the 2015 IIHF World Championship tournament. Just goes to show Patrick Wiercioch really is one of the better defencemen on this team.
#NEWS: Patrick Wiercioch has been added to #TeamCanada for @2015IIHFWorlds. #MensWorlds

Tremendously honoured to represent Canada! Thank you @HockeyCanada for the opportunity!

Erik Karlsson for Norris!
If you haven’t heard already King Karlsson was officially nominated for the best defencemen of the year in the NHL. The coveted, Norris Trophy has been won by Erik Karlsson before and the chances of him winning his second are actually pretty good.
— Kevin Lee (@BringBackLee) April 27, 2015
Mark Stone for Calder!
The Calder trophy race this season was probably the closest I’ve seen in years. The official finalists include Calgary Flames forward, Johnny Gaudreau. Florida Panther defencemen, Aaron Ekblad and our very own Mark Stone. All three could very easily win this award and it wouldn’t even be a problem. Let’s just hope our guy, Mark Stone brings home the hardware.
Two Senators players to Vegas as awards nominees. Very worthy. Mark Stone (Calder) & Erik Karlsson (Norris). Shining lights in a fab run.

Andrew Hammond for Masterton!
The Hamburglar rounds up the list of Senators nominated for awards this year. Andrew Hammond’s historic 24 game stretch during the regular season helped lifted the Senators into a playoff spot. Without Hammond’s extraordinary play, the Senators probably won’t have made it this far into the season.
Finally on the road back home after a great season! Honored to be a Masterton award finalist. Looking forward to my first trip to Vegas!
