MATCH-UP HISTORY

Binghamton has lost three out of four to Hershey with the latest set back on Feb 6 on home ice losing 3-2.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Stanislav Galiev, HER – The 23-year-old former 3rd round draft pick from Moscow is playing in his first full season for the Bears and is tied for second with Kris Newbury with 35 points in 43 games (19 goals 16 assists). Galiev in the past has played in parts of two seasons splitting time between the Reading Royals and Hershey.

Chris Wideman, BNG – His 42 points is tops in the league and is tied with several defenseman with 13 goals while leading with 29 assists in 50 games. Wideman has emerged as the offensive weapon on the power play as we all know it and should get another crack up in Ottawa with some actual games this time soon.

THREE KEYS TO THE GAME

1. Goaltending Issues – With Craig Anderson remaining out and Robin Lehner added to the IR for Ottawa, Andrew Hammond is now the starter with Chris Dreidger being re-called from Evansville in back up role (whew, let’s take a moment to grasp that all in). It’s now ( and has been) the Scotty Greenham show along with veteran Peter Mannino for Binghamton.

2. Playoffs Look to be Out of Reach? With the team’s struggles throughout the season, it’s too bad as they were looked to be a lock for the leader’s out of the pact but things haven’t gone quite that way this season.

3. The Shane Prince Effect – This will be his first game back to Binghamton in his return from his two game stint up in Ottawa where he registered his first NHL point assisting on Erik Condra‘s goal in the first period of Ottawa’s 6-3 loss to Carolina last Monday. How his attitude on the ice will likely rub off on others hoping for that next call-up.
