The Ottawa Senators announced that recent call-up, Shane Prince was headed back to Binghamton after a brief stint in Ottawa.
For Prince, his time in Ottawa comes as an experience to get his feet wet at the highest level in the world as he heads back to a great development league in the AHL.
Binghamton (21-24-5) is in the middle of a season described as disappointing by most as Prince’s spot on the roster will surely bring offence back to the team. Prince returns as the team’s leading scorer amongst forwards as his all-star worthy campaign holds up to this point.
Prince is putting up career numbers in the AHL, where his offensive tools have really come alive since making the AHL as a 19-year-old out of junior. For the past two seasons of pro, Prince has played at around a 0.5 PPG pace, where a step-up has been seen this season at a 0.80 PPG pace.

PAGEAU TO STAY?
The move isn’t surprising as the Senators have a full roster of forward with Jean-Gabriel Pageau being recalled after a 2-game stint in Binghamton.
On the IR remains Zack Smith and Chris Neil as two veteran players who may return at a later date.
Jean-Gabriel Pageau continued his dominance vs Montreal as he now has 6 career goals against the Canadiens. With 6 goals vs Montreal, that equates to 55% of his career total in goals; the most memorable coming in a 2013 playoff series where Pageau recorded a hattrick in route to a 6-1 Senators win.
At this point in time, it may be time to consider J.G. a full-time NHLer as his solid play and hard work of late gives us a valid reason to label him as such.
Pageau remains an undersized NHL player, yet that doesn’t stop him from being a legitimate depth player in the Senators organization.
