MATCH-UP HISTORY

The Senators won 3-2 in the second game of the season on home ice as the final one is set tonight in Portland. Look for the Dziurzynski brother’s David and Darian to share some brotherly love on the ice.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

The Samuelsson’s, POR – Both brothers Philip (23) and younger sibling Henrik (20) have been united with Arizona’s trade of Ex-BSens Rob Klinkhammer and a conditional fifth-round draft choice in 2016 in exchange for the Leksand, Sweden playing for the WB/Scranton Penguins earlier in Dec.

Matt Puempel, BNG – After having scored a goal and an assist in a losing cause to Syracuse last Saturday, the 2nd year pro hopes to continue in producing points in the absence of leader Chris Wideman, who is currently on recall up in Ottawa.

THREE KEYS TO THE GAME

1. Rough Start in Net For New Goaltender – Peter Mannino, in making his Senator debut on Saturday, fell short in the win column but overall was okay with 41 saves. Same problems exist though defensively, with several blown coverages that left him out to dry on a few. Side note: Peter would’ve had the game winner, had it been if he was in mid-season form.

2. Coach Cameron Mentions More Time is Needed in AHL Marc Methot will be taking the bus like the good old days when he played for the Syracuse Crunch back in 2005-’08 when he first broke out into the pros. The NHL’er has 399 games under his belt since with parts of six seasons with Columbus Blue Jackets and three with Ottawa. It’s all been apparently a mistake. Never mind. Carry on as you are. Shame on us for believing in what was earlier said. Our bad. My bad. We’re all bad. Round and round in circles we go.

3. Missing Link on the Man Advantage – Chris Wideman has been missed on the power play as indicated in last Saturday’s game as their was zero structure. One player shouldn’t be relied on in making a difference, but it was the case in one of the team’s overall season poor performance’s as he is more than welcomed back.
