Ottawa Senators @ Washington Capitals: Senshot Predicts
Here we go.. The Ottawa Senators are in Washington to face the Capitals. Earlier game-day preview here. And here’s our predictions for this one:
Trevor Shackles (13-20)
The Senators will have to bring their A game as they face off against a team starring in “Epix: Road to the Winter Classic.” Perhaps it’ll be a chance to show people what they’re made of, but also they may just embarrass themselves.
I think Ottawa will be a bit flat coming off of a very disappointing loss in Montreal, and the finished product on the Epix channel may not be pretty. I’ll take the Capitals in this game.

Eldrinson Vado (14-19)
Surprisingly the Ottawa Senators have won seven straight games against the Washington Capitals, dating back to the 2011-12 NHL season. The Washington Capitals though are on a hot streak, 6-0-2 over their last eight games.
Braden Holtby is confirmed to start for Washington, while Craig Anderson is most likely in net for Ottawa. Given the heavy favourites Washington is given for tonight’s game, I’m going against the grain and picking Ottawa to win 4-3. Goals will be tough for Ottawa but I’m hoping for a Pre-Christmas miracle tonight.

Charlie Arsenault (15-18)
I brought up the fact that the Sens were playing the Capitals when I was talking to my dad last night. He responded with “Alex Ovechkin’s leg muscles are incredible.”
This scares me in more ways than one. Sens Lose.

Jack Leiper (15-18)
Not sure who to take on this one. I’ll be honest. Chris Phillips is coming out and Patrick Wiercioch has a chance to work his magic. I still think there are too many question marks on this squad.
Then again, the Sens have performed well against the capitals.
I’m going to go with my gut, and say Ottawa. Sens win

Travis Valois (15-18)
Ottawa travels to the capital of the United States. I’m hoping Ottawa picks up this win. They are a hard team to judge. The teAm picks up a bounce back win tonight.

Zachary Prenner (16-17)
pending prediction.

Josh Chenoweth (18-15)
Sens lose 4-2 to the Capitals. Despite having only 1 assist against the Sens last season, Ovechkin usually brings his A-game against Ottawa with 19 career goals and 36 points in 31 games against Ottawa. The Sens are still working out the kinks in their defensive system, which doesn’t bode well.
