GAMEDAY PREVIEW via Josh Chenoweth
Title Quote via Zachary Prenner’s prediction. Here they are, the Senators are at home to face the defending Stanley Cup Champions. Our predictions have been all over the place this season and we look to continue just that.
Trevor Shackles (10-17)
If Ottawa is able to beat the Los Angeles Kings, I will eat my own shoe. Well, maybe not. It doesn’t matter, because I cannot picture Ottawa winning this game at all. I will be pleasantly surprised if they do though.

The Ottawa Senators now under new head coach, Dave Cameron will make their first impressions tonight against the defending cup champions, LA Kings. Tonight’s game will provide a spectrum of sorts to the fans of the Ottawa Senators. Will watch just how well the league’s best team performs on a nightly basis, providing Ottawa Senators fans a visual comparison on how far this team really is to winning the Stanley Cup. In net tonight is Craig Anderson, who is likely going to face Jonathan Quick.
All of us are hoping for a stand out performance from the Senators under new coach Dave Cameron but this is the LA Kings we’re talking about. Puck possession is their specialty, as for the Ottawa Senators, not so much. LA wins this one 4-2.

I think the Senators take the W tonight. The message has been sent, we just have to see if the message has been received. Dave Cameron’s first game as an NHL head coach is tonight, and I think the players react well.
I’m not a huge fan of Ottawa’s top line tonight of Greening – Turris – Condra, but love the 2nd and 3rd lines of Hoffman – Zibanejad – Ryan, and Stone – Lazar – Chiasson. I’m taking Ottawa.

Senators are coming off the firing of Maclean and a big win over the Canucks. How will they play for new Coach Dave Cameron? I think the Sens pick up the win at home at the Canadian Tire Centre.

Gonna be an important game after the Paulrus’ departure earlier this week. There’ll be debate over whether it was the right move until the next coach after Cameron inevitably steps in, but for now I’m just hoping the shock and awe of what’s happened wakes up this team and at the very least we see a solid effort against a daunting LA squad.
Maclean preached consistency, but we’ve been consistently outplayed and out shot this season, so maybe what we need is a new direction, a new style.
We don’t need to be consistent to win tonight. I have no idea how the team will respond, but if it looks like some progress is being made I’ll take it. Dave Cameron wins his debut, Zibby gets on the scoreboard and we take it 2-1.

Sens lose 3-1 to the Kings. LA is too deep compared to Ottawa, and it will take some time for any real changes Dave Cameron makes to have an impact.
