Game 27: Senshot Predicts Ottawa Senators vs Vancouver Canucks

Lousy? That’s not nice.. Well, we don’t have any one over .500 on this panel, so I’ll let you decide as to whether our predictions are lousy.

Trevor Shackles (10-16)

After seeing Erik Karlsson’s ballerina display on the game winning goal yesterday, I have so much confidence in the team! Or, maybe not. There’s no way in my mind Ottawa snaps the streak against Vancouver; I’ll say 4-1 Canucks.

Well, Ottawa has not been good. Marc Methot is back, so that’s a positive. A 5 game losing streak is equal with Ottawa’s worst last season and I think they snap it tonight.Ottawa played well against Pittsburgh, where it was really only one shift that killed Ottawa and allowed Christian Ehroff to win the game.

Travis Valois (11-15)
Ottawa gets to face the Vancouver Canucks. Who will Maclean scratch today? Will the Senators score? Are people’s jobs on the line? Both teams lost their games yesterday. I predict Craig Anderson stands on his head and the Senators sneak out a win.

Eldrinson Vado (11-15)

What could be considered the hardest stretch of the season for the Ottawa Senators isn’t going to get any easier tonight. The Vancouver Canucks come to town to face the Ottawa Senators who played a hard fought game in Pittsburgh yesterday. The travel and back to back games could fatigue the Senators, especially Craig Anderson.

History shows that goalie’s save percentages take a hit when goalies play back-to-back and tonight this could be a big factor. Vancouver did play in Toronto last night but will have some fresh legs in net in Ryan Miller.

Possession numbers for the Senators have seem to improve a little with the return of Marc Methot but I’m leaning towards Vancouver in this one. 3-2 Vancouver.

Sens lose. I don’t… I don’t know what else to say. I mean, they’ve lost five straight, and now they’re playing the Canucks just over 24 hours after losing to the Penguins. Tonight is gonna suck.

Tough to say when this losing streak is going to end. We’ve lost quite a few one goal games lately so you’d think the luck will turn eventually, but we’re also not getting the kind of production we need out of some players.

Bobby Ryan has just 14 points, and at this point isn’t earning that 7million dollar extension he got earlier in the year. If we’re going to pull out of this skid, we’ll need Bobby to pick up the slack. Ottawa ends the skid, mostly because it’s not an afternoon game. Ottawa 3-1.

Sens lose 4-2 to the Canucks. Vancouver has rebounded nicely after last season while the Sens are in a tailspin. On the plus side for Ottawa? …At least it’s not an afternoon game? *shrugs shoulders*
