MATCHUP HISTORY
Late this Oct Binghamton split the two games on The Rock as the IceCaps visit for the first of their two games this season. Last season St. John’s won three out of four.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Chase Balisy, STJ – The 22-year-old rookie has 6 goals, 10 assists in 18 games as his 16 points puts him out front on the IceCaps. After spending four years playing for Western Michigan, the sixth round pick in 2011 is off to a quick start in his pro career.
Chris Wideman, BNG – The club’s leader in goals (10), assists (11) and points is tied with Kris Newbury of Hershey with 21 points for top honors in the league. He also leads the AHL with 10 points on the power play. By far the best player on the Senators.
TOP 3 STORYLINES FOR THE GAME
1. St. John’s on a Roll – After sweeping through Pennsylvania over the weekend beating Lehigh Valley in OT and shutting out the Bears, they have won their last five out of six and are four points out of first in the Atlantic.
2. Senators Amidst a 4 in 5 at Home – Binghamton swept last weekend’s two tilt’s taking the Monarch’s in overtime and providing Andrew Hammond a shutout the next night against the Devils. The test tonight is if the Sens can bottle up some energy from the pair of wins into tonight’s contest.
3. Goaltending Scenario – Senators will most likely go with Andrew Hammond tonight and Saturday while Scott Greenham starting on the road in Syracuse on Friday as I don’t recall him ever playing at home.
