Nashville just beat Toronto 9 – 2, and they’ve been hot. Here’s what Senshot’s writers have to think about the upcoming game.
Trevor Shackles (6-11)
Prediction: Nashville has been one of the best teams in the league so far, and they’re coming off a 9-2 annihilation of the Leafs. I think they should be able to exploit Ottawa’s defensive deficiencies as well, so I’ll say 3-1 Nashville.

The Senators lost the season opener against Nashville. This game is going to come down to goaltending. I predict an Ottawa win. Nashville must be tired after putting up Nine goals on the Leafs.

Jack Leiper (8-9)
The Preds have been on FIYAH! I think Ottawa has to have a really great one to step up. Personally, I’m not a big fan of Ottawa’s 2nd line and think our Defence group has to improve. I’m going to take the preds in one that won’t be close.

I’ll be honest, I’m a little nervous after watching the Predators absolutely embarrass the Leafs. But at the same time, they were playing the Leafs. MacLean’s practice lineups have been a little odd, and from what I’ve seen, people are questioning his sanity (Not the first time). Goaltending will probably be solid though. Either way, I say Predators win.

I could get into this one a little deeper, but honestly all that really needs to be said is that at this point and time Nashville is simply a better team. Their defence, goaltending, and goal scoring are all strong enough that if one falters, the others are still likely enough to put them ahead of the Sens at the end of the night.
Also really have to wonder about Maclean’s lines; I’m thrilled to see Hoff-Zibby-Stone, but frustrated that Lazar is sitting and our supposed second line is Greening-Legwand-Ryan. I hope the Paulrus knows what he’s doing. Nashville takes it 4-1.

Here comes the rematch of the first game of the season for the Ottawa Senators. The Nashville Predators come to town red hot. Winners of 7 of the last 10 games and most importantly the 9-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs. In the first game of the season the Nashville Predators dominated puck possession. Holding a 59% Corsi For, for the entire game.
I just don’t see the Ottawa Senators holding up, even with All-Star netminder, Pekka Renne sitting out this one. Nashville wins 4-2.

Sens lose 3-1 to Nashville. Coming off a long break, the Sens are likely going to need a game to get back up to speed. Meanwhile, Nashville continues to be one of the biggest surprises in the NHL with Filip Forsberg giving them their first offensive star in a long time.
