We have hockey tonight, folks. The Senators took a quick break after their western swing and are back into the thick of it with a matchup against Nashville tonight. Preview here.
Senators practice brought some interesting lineup changes as Paul Maclean is shifting things around with Curtis Lazar out of the lineup. According to Senators beat writers, Lazar came off early yesterday and was not on the ice today.
Coach Maclean has assembled a new look roster, and will start it against Nashville.
"Clarke MacArthur – Kyle Turris – Alex ChiassonColin Greening – David Legwand – Bobby RyanMilan Michalek – Zack Smith – Chris NeilMike Hoffman – Mika Zibanejad – Mark Stone"
The 2nd line is a combo we haven’t seen before. Colin Greening has played 4 games this season, and will get his chance to play in a top 6 role. Greening hasn’t seen this role since the departure of Jason Spezza and hasn’t played to a Top 6 or scoring pace since 11-12 where he recorded 17 goals and 37 points.
The move to 2nd line may come as a “showcasing” by Senators management who make look to deal Colin Greening as Marc Methot inches back into the lineup.
Methot Update
According to Bruce Garrioch (@SunGarrioch) Methot has been skating, but may still be a ways off to playing at an NHL pace. This injury is becoming significantly more serious and is inching to an impact on Methot’s upcoming contract.
According to a Garrioch tweet from Nov 17th, there is “No timetable for Methot’s return.”
