SenShot Predicts: Ottawa Senators vs Winnipeg Jets
Here is today’s edition of SenShot predicts, our pre-game round table of predictions, ahead of the Ottawa Senators contest with the Winnipeg Jets:
Josh Chenoweth (4-8)
Sens lose 3-2 to the Jets. Winnipeg has been playing well of late, and the Sens continue to give up a ton of shots. Anderson can’t steal every game.

Zachary Prenner (5-7)
I’m going to be at this game, and as much as the Sens have had success at home this season so have I when I’ve seen them. I’m hoping for more of the same against a Winnipeg team that seems to be finding more of an identity under Paul Maurice as the season goes on. The Jets’ defence has been outstanding, and their penalty kill didn’t allow a single goal against Pittsburgh’s potent power play, so Ottawa could be in tough to score goals tonight. However, I’m totally on board with this “kid line” and I think they give us a bit of a secret weapon that can be hard to contain. That coupled with the matchup history over the years being in our favour leads me to call this a victory for the home team, 4-1 Sens.

Jack Leiper (5-7)
Ottawa takes a 3rd in a row at Winnipeg. The Jets have been good by themselves lately, but questions on Defence and goaltending should keep them out of the playoffs again. Ottawa’s Offence has been hot and I only see their Defense rising as their goaltending continues to be among the league best.
Ottawa.

Charlie Arseneault (6-6)
There’s no reason to believe the Senators can’t keep things going. They’re confident and have played well. But more importantly, Anderson and Lehner have played extremely well. Sens take this one.
—
Travis Valois (7-5)
Senators continue to roll tonight and defeat the Jets. The team is on fire right now. I do not expect the Jets to put out the fire. Senators win.
—
Eldrinson Vado (7-5)
Both the Jets and Sens are hot right now. Winners of the 5 out of the last 7, the Jets are showing no signs of slowing down. Evander Kane is back and providing the Jets that extra step they missed due to his injury earlier in the season. The Senators are at home, which means they can win against almost any team in the league and the reason I’m taking them again tonight. 4-2 Sens is my prediction.

Jared Crozier (8-4)
The Jets begin a road trip in Ottawa, and the Senators are in the midst of a (so-far) successful home stand. Craig Anderson is seeing the puck so well right now and the defense is limiting chances if not shots. The Jets have also been getting good goaltending from Ondrej Pavelec but the Senators have had his number over the years. Ottawa extends the streak.
