SenShot Predicts: Ottawa Senators vs Columbus

facebooktwitterreddit

Coming off a close game in Chicago, the Ottawa Senators face the Columbus Blue Jackets for the second time in 11 days, once again without goalie Sergei Bobrovsky.

Here is what our writers think will happen in today’s version of SenShot Predicts:

Josh Chenoweth (2-5)

The Sens win 4-3 over Columbus. With 2 games under their belt after that long layoff, the Sens have to have their game legs back. And the seemingly age old question: will Zibanejad get a point?

Jack Leiper (2-5)

Ottawa bounces back and tops the injury plagued Columbus. Sergei Bobrovsky and Nick Foligno being out gives Ottawa the upper hand going in. Bobby Ryan has a big game and so does Robin Lehner. PThe Sens might’ve been heavily outshot, but considering who their opponents were I’m pretty pleased with what I saw. Columbus is pretty banged up: they’re missing the likes of Nick Foligno, Ryan Murray, Boone Jenner, and most recently number one goalie Sergei Bobrovsky. I’m hoping that the Sens can carry over the energy and effort they had against Chicago and take advantage of a hurt and struggling Blue Jackets squad. Senators take it by a score of 2-0.robably a close one between the Senators and a young team on the rise, but Ottawa takes it.

Charlie Arseneault (3-4)

The Sens badly want a win after losing their last two. With multiple injuries, the Blue Jackets aren’t in a very good spot. Sens take it 3-2

Zachary Prenner (3-4)

The Sens might’ve been heavily outshot, but considering who their opponents were I’m pretty pleased with what I saw. Senators take it by a score of 2-0.

Eldrinson Vado (3-4)

Once again the Senators are set to face another banged up Columbus Blue Jackets squad, this time it’s in Ohio. Curtis McElhinney is set to play against Robin Lehner and if you had to ask me who I’d put my money on is the better goaltender, I’d go Robin Lehner. Columbus will provide a strong, gritty performance at home but not enough against a more healthier Ottawa team. 3-1 Senators win.

Travis Valois (3-4)

I predict Ottawa wins a close game. Curtis McElhinney is in nets. Sergei Bobrovski is injured. The Senators need to win this game in Columbus and capatize on the back up goalie. I am expecting a 3-2 kind of game.

Ottawa wins

Jared Crozier (5-2)

Ottawa won’t want to drop 2 games in a row in front of their dads.  Columbus is battling the injury bug, and McElhinney hasn’t played since leaving the Ottawa game with an injury.   Jared Cowen might surprise in his return to the lineup and solidify a spot. Or he might not. Who knows.  Ottawa will win though.
