The Flyers needed help on the blue line, and they got it in the defensive minded MacDonald. He won’t show up on the stats sheet very often, but he is a minute muncher who can help insulate the offensive minded guys like Kimmo Timonen and Mark Streit as well as make the life of the Flyers goalies easier
