The snowstorm in the American East has had a trickle-down effect on the Ottawa Senators. Originally scheduled to play in Philadelphia tonight and Buffalo on Thursday, before heading home to face the Senators on Friday, the Carolina Hurricanes had tonight’s game against the Flyers postponed.

That has resulted in a snowball (pun intended) effect, that means the Senators will now face the Canes on Saturday. And to top it all off, it is a 12 noon start. Just what the Senators needed, another dreaded afternoon game.
The Canes will play the Flyers Wednesday night instead, and since teams cannot play games 3 nights in a row due to the CBA, that means the Sens game gets bumped.
While the move means the Senators get to avoid playing 3 games in 4 nights, it also takes away a full day off, which is much needed at this point in the schedule. The Senators will still have 2 days off after the Carolina game, but losing the extra day is no doubt disappointing.
By the way, the Senators are 1-6-2 in games starting before 5:30pm.
