B-Sens will play the Utica Comets for the first ever meeting between the two teams tonight at the Utica Memorial Auditorium. The Sens will try and shake off their five game losing streak to the upstart Utica club formerly known as the Peoria Rivermen re-located under parent club Vancouver Canucks. Andrew Hammond (6-3-3, .298 gaa) will get the nod in net as Nathan Lawson continues to recover from the flu. Comets have two rookie goaltenders in Joacim Eriksson (4-10-1, .313) and Joe Cannata (2-5-0, .331 gaa). Despite the current losing streak, the Sens have earned three points in three shootout losses to earn a tie for first place with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in the East.

Notes & Observations
- Cody Ceci (emergency re-call) and Jean-Gabriel Pageau (getting another look) were called up by the big club and played in last night’s 2-1 Ottawa victory over Buffalo. Both players had strong games and Ceci should be back once Marc Methot is healthy.
- B-Sens are in 8th place at 20.0% on the pp and the Comets register a 19.0% for 13th place. Utica sits on the pk in 29th at 74.4% and Sens are 83.2% for 13th position
- Senators are 7-4-0-0 on the road while Utica is 1-8-1-1 at home. Comets are 6-3-2-0 (.583) in games in which they’ve scored first while B-Sens have gone 10-2-0-2 (.808).
- Binghamton teams in the past have played Utica clubs in previous seasons as the Mohawk Valley Comets (NAHL 1973-’77), Utica Devils (AHL 1987-’93) and Mohawk Valley Prowlers (UHL 1998-2001).
