B-Sens Game Day Preview: @ Syracuse Crunch

facebooktwitterreddit

The Senators are ready to kickoff the weekend with three games in as many days as they take on the Crunch at Onondaga County War Memorial tonight for a 7:05 pm face off. The two rivals play back to back home games this weekend and tonight’s contest will be the second tilt between the two teams this season. The previous meeting was nearly two weeks ago as B-Sens fans witnessed them winning in comeback fashion by a score of 4-3 in OT for Bingo’s season home opener. This should be another tight battle as things are starting to heat up between the two cities that are located an hour apart from one another.

-Pre-Game Notes

-Binghamton is coming back from a 4-1 victory in Norfolk after getting spanked the previous night 5-0. They’ll look to continue playing disciplined hockey by staying out of the box and start to capitalize on the PP as the team’s main focus in practice this week was just that.

-Syracuse lost at home Sunday afternoon to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins 6-3 as the Pens potted 5 unanswered goals in the 3rd period after the Crunch were leading 3-1. Seems to be a trend lately as Syracuse has been unable to hold on to any leads heading into the third in 2 out of 3 games they have played.

Shane Prince, who was a healthy scratch in last Saturday night’s game in Norfolk, and is one tonight as well. Coach Luke Richardson said Prince was playing too much on the perimeter and not getting any scoring chances and he expects better from him. Richardson also added that Prince wasn’t happy not being penciled in and thinks that he got the message.

He had a great rookie camp and a strong training camp in Ottawa, but we felt in his first game he was on the perimeter and had only one scoring chance. We expect so much from him, but he got revved up by that (healthy scratch) and he’s a fiery guy. He didn’t like that.” – See more at: http://www.senatorsextra.com/main/zibanejad-settles-into-binghamton-lineup#sthash.ee5mr3P6.LMXKTWQP.dpuf

PRINCE SITS OUT: Following Friday’s 5-0 loss – all five goals came in the first period, four of them on the power play – Richardson shook up his roster, making winger Shane Price and defenceman Michael Sdao healthy scratches.

Richardson believes Prince got the message.
