CHICAGO 3, CAROLINA 2 (SHOOTOUT)

Patrick Sharp scored the first goal of the game and also scored the lone goal in the shootout as the Hawks blew a 2-0 lead in the third period and had to play extra time to get the win.  Marian Hossa had the other goal in the first period for the Hawks, who got 32 saves from Corey Crawford for the eventual win.

Alex Semin and Ron Hainsey got the Canes a point with third period goals, while Cam Ward kept his team in the game, making 34 saves.

TAMPA BAY 5, LOS ANGELES 1

Martin St. Louis scored twice and added an assist for the Bolts, with Ryan Malone, Teddy Purcell and Ondrej Palat also bulged the twine and added an assits each as Tampa powered past the Kings.  Ben Bishop made 30 saves to move to 4-0-0 on the season for the Lightning as it looks like they might have finally found a #1 goalie.

It was a rare off-game for Kings goalie Jonathan Quick, who allowed 3 goals on 17 shots before being replaced by Ben Scrivens, who let in 2 of 8 shots in relief.  Slava Voynov was the only King to beat Bishop.
