Ottawa Senators Schedule Relased: Circle These Dates On Your Calendar

Finally, the issues regarding the fate of the Coyotes as well as the NHL participation in the Olympics has been settled, and the NHL schedule has been released.

The Senators open the season on October 4th, the first game of a 6 game road trip in Buffalo.

Here are some dates you might want to circle on your calendar:

DEC 1, 2013 – The Return Of Alfie

While the Senators will play against their former Captain on Oct 23rd and Nov 23rd in Detroit, the shock of Daniel Alfredsson playing in another uniform will not firmly hit home until the day he sets foot on Canadian Tire Centre ice in another team’s sweater.  That will be an emotional night all around with many mixed feelings.

NOV 20, 2013- Public Enemies Come Together

Two of the Senators’ biggest nemeses, Dany Heatley and Matt Cooke are now wearing the same uniform, that of the Minnesota Wild.  It will be a chance to be vocal towards both Public Enemy #1 and Public Enemy #2 at the same time.

NOV 7, 2013- Giving No Respect

The Habs will be making a pre-season appearance, but the real fun and games between the Senators and the club they defeated in the first round when they hook up for the first time.  They will meet 6 times this season, and each of them will be interesting as the budding rivalry continues to bloom.

OCT 13, 2013 – Renewing Acquaintances

The biggest trade of the off-season so far involved the Senators and the Ducks, and Bobby Ryan and Jakob Silfverberg will be facing their former clubs for the first time, and it won’t take long as it happens on Ottawa’s season-opening 6 game road trip.

OCT 5, 2013 – The Battle Resumes

The Battle of Ontario resumes early on, when the Senators visit the Leafs in the second game of the season.  It is a rivalry that will take on greater importance because for the first time in ages both teams made the playoffs last season.

DEC 23, 2013- Pens Are Mightier…?

The Senators will face off against the team that ended their season, and although it won’t change the result, you can bet the Senators will want to send a message as to what a healthy and full strength Ottawa team can do.
