Senators-Penguins Will Start Tuesday + Some Interesting Series Notes


The beginning of the schedule for the second round series between the Ottawa Senators and Pittsburgh Penguins has been released, and the teams will kick off action on Tuesday night in Pittsburgh.

Here is the schedule available so far:

GAME 1:  Tuesday, May 14th Ottawa @ Pittsburgh 7:30 PM

GAME 2: Friday, May 17th Ottawa @ Pittsburgh 7:00 PM? (has been suggested that this will be game 2 but not yet confirmed)

Here are some interesting notes heading into the series:

Ottawa was 5-3-2 this season in games that start before 6:00 pm.

Ottawa was 0-2-1 against the Penguins this season.

Pittsburgh and Ottawa were the only teams to average 4 goals a game or more in the first round.

Only Chicago and Los Angeles had a better goals against average that Ottawa’s 1.80 in the first round.  Pittsburgh’s GAA was 2.83 in round 1.  Washingtons is 1.77, but they still have a game to play in the series.
