One thing the Ottawa Senators have been criticized for over the years has often been the lack of toughness and the propensity to be pushed around at key times. However, looking back over the years, the Sens have been involved in some of the biggest brawls and highest penalty minute games since they came into the NHL.

If Saturday’s Binghamton game is any indication, there is plenty of toughness in the system, and you need to look no further than Robin Lehner. Lehner’s meltdown and subsequent beatdown of Crunch goalie Riku Helenius might have cost the Senators the game, but solidified the Senators reputation for employing pugilistic masked men.
Lehner joins the illustrious list that includes Jani Hurme, Patrick Lalime, and of course Ray Emery as the scrapping goalies, a longer list than any other team has that I can think of.
