SenShot’s Take
This year the first round will be dominated by the CHL and defensemen, the Leafs take the first European prospect. Forsberg is a big winger who has good offensive instincts. While this pick doesn’t address the Leafs’ need for a big centre, there were none available that would knock Forsberg out of this slot. Seemingly set on the blue line, they had to go forward, and Forsberg is the top talent available there.
This pick would set up a rivalry of Swedish proportions between the Senators and Leafs, as the Leafs finally get some Swedish representation to take on what could be a very Blue and Gold looking Ottawa team going forward.
