Game 6: FLA @ NJD – Live Another Day
Florida would be greeted with the unfortunate news of finding out that Jose Theodore coming off a shutout in game 5 would be out with an undisclosed injury. In his place, Scott Clemmensen would get the start. New Jersey would come out strong at home and it would pay off at 16:37 of the first with Steve Bernier getting on the board. After one, 1-0 Devils. They would strike again in the second with Ilya Kovalchuk getting his 3rd of the series at 4:21. However, Florida would get two unanswered to end the period with Kris Versteeg scoring at 7:05 and Sean Bergenheim at 12:49.
New Jersey would get several chances to take the lead but Clemmensen would stand tall. Off to OT this game would go for the first time this series. It would end quickly though, on a defensive breakdown by Florida. Travis Zajac would find some open room to wrist one into the net to give the Devils the 3-2 win, despite a 39 save performance by Clemmensen. The series will be decided in game 7 in Florida.
