Non-Sens Game Of The Day – Fla @ Was

There are a few games that impact the Ottawa Senators in the standings tonight, but none is more important than the Florida Panthers visiting the Washington Capitals.  With Ottawa clinging to the final playoff spot, the Panthers and Caps  are in a battle with each other for not only the Southeast Division lead but also with the Senators for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Florida currently holds a 1 point cushion on the Capitals with a game in hand.  Ottawa sits 2 points up on the Panthers and 3 up on the Caps.  Florida has 4 games in hand and the Caps 3 on the Senators.

The worst case scenario for the Senators would be a 3 point game.  Either way, one of the two Southeast teams needs to go on a bad run of games in the next couple of weeks or Ottawa is in big trouble.
