Alfie, Spezza, Michalek and Karlsson Named All-Star Starters

Congratualtions, Sens Army!

Your votes have been cast and the results are in, and 4of your own Ottawa Senators will be starting in the All Star game later this month right here in Ottawa.

Erik Karlsson led all players in voting with over 939,000 votes.  Daniel Alfredsson, Jason Spezza and Milan Michalek were 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively in forwards voting, knocking Phil Kessel off the starters list.

They are joined as starters by  Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Dion Phaneuf as well as Boston goaltender Tim Thomas.

The rest of the All Star selections will be named by the NHL in the next couple of weeks.

Jared Cowen also has a shot be named as a rookie representative in the skills competition, but having 4 Senators already in the game might limit his chances, as the NHL likes to get representation from all 30 NHL teams in some capacity.
