VOTE ALFIE For All-Star 2012!

The fan balloting for the 2012 All Star game in Ottawa begins today, and there is a movement afoot to get hockey fans in the city to make sure Ottawa Senators captain Daniel Alfredsson is voted into the starting lineup for the game.

As he winds his career down, Senators fans need to vote in the face of the franchise, a player who has been a part of this club for 16 of its 19 seasons in the NHL.  He is a 5 time all-star, and this is the opportunity to get him into the All-Star game in his home arena.

There would be no more fitting tribute than to have Alfredsson be voted in to start the game in the city he has dedicated his professional career to and been such a great ambassador for.

Here is the link to start casting your vote. You can vote up to 30 times each on your computer or web enabled mobile phone or also by texting  ALFREDSSON (or any other player’s last name) to 81812.  If you voted each way, you can put 90 votes in total in for the Captain.
Jason Spezza, Milan Michalek, Erik Karlsson and Sergei Gonchar are also on the ballot for voting, or you can write in your favorite player if they are not on the ballot.

Voting runs through Jan 4th, but get your votes in now to put Alfie and the other Senators in the lead so that people will hop on the bandwagon!

Lets make sure our Captain is an All-Star captain as well, and get him a record for the number of votes received!
