Binghamton Senators hockey, that is. The AHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators host what has become an annual contest here in Ottawa, as they host the Hamilton Bulldogs, the AHL club of the Montreal Canadiens. There are still plenty of tickets available for the 1:00 pm puck drop.
The Senators have struggled this season having lost a number of players to the NHL Senators and other teams following their stunning Calder Cup run last season. They have lost 6 in a row, and sit in last place in their division. The Senators have been playing without reigning AHL MVP Corey Locke, who is out with a hand injury. Captian Mark Parrish missed the last game due to a foot injury and is questionable to play today, so it will be a very young team that faces off against the Bulldogs. You can look forward to seeing Robin Lehner, Nikita Filatov, Mike Hoffman, Patick Wiercioch and former Ottawa 67’s winger Corey Cowick in the lineup.
The Bulldogs are equally struggling, as they sit in the basement of their division as well. Their lineup features the likes of Mike Blunden (recently reassigned from Montreal), former first round pick Louis Leblanc, and former New York Islander goaltender Nate Lawson.
Go out and see some future Senators in action and see for yourself who you think should get the call next time Murray needs help on the Senators!
