This Week In SensLand

With the second week of the NHL kicking off this week, lets take a look at what’s in store for your Ottawa Senators.

The Sens have three games this week that will see them take on one superstar, a team on the same path as them, and the return of the hated one. After going 0-for-2 in their first two games of the season, being outscored 11-8, the Sens have a lot to work on. Let’s see who’s on deck for the Sens this week

First up will be the Minnesota Wild in the Sens’ home opener on Tuesday night. With the Wild trading for Dany Heatley this past summer, in a hilarious karmic twist, he’ll be forced to show his face in Ottawa again since his cowardly trade demand three summers ago.

On Thursday, the Sens will take on the Colorado Avalanche in Ottawa. With both teams in rebuilding modes, both teams will look to see where they stack up against each other. This game will also feature rookie Gabriel Landeskog, who many Sens’ fans were hoping to see in a Sens jersey.

Saturday night will see the Sens in the Alex Ovechkin show as Ottawa will travel to Washington to take on the Capitals. With the Caps locked and loaded for a run at Lord Stanley, hopefully the Sens will have learned to play defense by then or this may be a long night for whoever tends the Sens goal.

With two winnable games this week against the Wild and Avs, Ottawa will hope to get on the board and get their first win of the season. If the Sens have another 0-for week, look for this season to be a long year. ‘Til next time, GO SENS GO!!!
