So the other day, our Ottawa Senators account manager, Steve, and I were chatting, and he offered to give one of our readers, who must be a die hard Sens fan, a pair of tickets to the home opener on Tuesday, October 11th.
The vistors? The Minnesota Wild. I know, the Wild isn’t usually a great draw, but in case you haven’t been paying attention this summer, the Wild made a significant trade in the off season and now sport a certain former Senator sniper who used to wear Zack Smith‘s number here in Ottawa.
That’s right, Dany Heatley will be returning to town for the second time since practically begging to leave this city and the team.
So now that you have another reason to want to go to this game and pay your “respects” to Heatley, what do you have to do to get your hands on these free ducats?
Well, when Steve and I were talking, we didn’t want to let just any old fan win the tickets, and not have to do anything to get them. So you are going to have to do your homework on this one.
What we want is your story about your favorite Sens moment or memory. It could be on-ice, off-ice, something that happened to you, or a story you heard or saw that stands out in your mind involving your team.
Please don’t write a novel, keep it under 250-300 words, but let us know what makes the Senators a big part of your life.
Send your submissions to senshot.contest@gmail.com.
The contest closes in one week. You have until 5:00 pm on Sunday, September 18th to get your submissions in. We will be selecting 3 finalists and publishing them next Monday and then the winner will be selected from those 3 finalists.
So get to writing! This is your chance to see a renewed and reinvigorated Daniel Alfredsson and the Senators open the season with a win over the Wild and their newest “sniper” on us!
And even if you don’t win our contest, you can still order your Senators ticket packages or indivudual tickets by calling Steve Harding at 613-271-5605 or by email at hardings@ottawasenators.com
