The Butler Did It – Signed a Contract With The Sens, That Is

One of the anticipated contracts of the summer is finally done, as the Ottawa Senators announced they have signed LW Bobby Butler to a 2 year contract.  Financial terms have not yet been released, but it is most likely a one way deal, given the status of the players who have been signed to one way contracts so far this summer.

Butler will be looking to prove he deserves a spot in the top two lines for the  Senators, who are starving for goal scoring.  Butler showed a goal-scorers touch last season in his audition with the Senators with 10 goals, and added 13 goals in the AHL playoffs on the way to winning the Calder Cup.

***UPDATE: as per Capgeek, Butler signed a two-year $2.150 million dollar contract. Butler will make $950,000 this season, and $1,200,000 next season with an annual cap hit of $1,075,000.***
