Bruins Win Stanley Cup!

The Boston Bruins have ended almost 40 years of drought by winning the 2011 Stanley Cup.  Their 4-0 decisive Game 7 victory sealed the deal, led by the line of Patrice Bergeron, Mark Recchi and Brad Marchand.  The trio scored all 4 goals for the Bruins.  Recchi all but announced his retirement after the game, ending a Hall of Fame career that saw him win 3 Stanley Cups with 3 different teams, matching a feat only done previously by 6 other players.

For the Canucks, it is a very disappointing end to what was a great season and roller coaster playoff.  In the end, it was the goaltending of Conn Smythe Trophy winner Tim Thomas who had an incredible Final series, that did them in.
